| I always like to sautee them in a little butter & lemon thyme (nothing brings out the earthyness of mushrooms quite like it) & I either use this on toast or in a risotto

Portobellos or the white "button" mushrooms are mild enough to add to any baked dish - casserole, baked meats, italian food, etc. Just throw in a sliced handful or two (or three if you're like me and love mushrooms).
Stuffed mushrooms are yummy too - since the filling is usually really buttery and high cal, I make my own by rolling either a small pre-cooked shrimp or a bite of chicken breast in just a tiny bit of butter and breadcrumbs, and then bake, maybe adding a little sprinkle of cheese at the end of the time (depends on the size of your mushrooms - when the mushrooms are nice and brown and starting to get a little soft around the edges they're done)
Hope you have fun cooking your mushrooms! They're my favorite fungus! Lol.

I really like mushrooms fried in butter and soy sauce. They taste really good on steak that way. Also, I would use some light butter, go easy on the soy sauce, to much is not a good thing.
You can pretty much have them with any kind of veggie cooked in olive oil or a light oil. You can just eat them plain on salad, pizzas, anything really.

| I just had a veggie quesadilla from a restaurant the other day that had red, green, and yellow peppers, caramelized onions, mushrooms and cheese and it was soooooo yummy! I tasted like a philly cheese steak sandwich, I didn't even miss the meat and I hardly ever eat meals without meat.

| Oh, I almost forgot! My favorite mushroom recipe... it's so easy and super low in fat, calories and sugar. Slice mushrooms as thin as you can, then snip some fresh chives. Put both ingredients into a pot with some chicken broth and simmer until mushrooms are done. I think it tastes like the soup you get at the Japanese steak houses.

Yeah, that's probably the bad part about reading the recipe forum... it makes you hungry
