Private Messages or PMs are used for private communications between forum members. They are considered "private" because they are not posted in the forums where others can read them.
To send a PM to another forum member, find their username in a post and click on it. You will see a display like this:

To send a PM, click on Send a Private Message, then complete the screen that pops up with a Subject and your text, then click on Send.
IF the forum member has entered their e-mail address in their profile, the Send E-mail link will also appear in bold text to indicate that you have the option to click on it and send them an e-mail instead of a PM.
Note that in the example above, the Visit Homepage link does not appear in bold text because the forum member has not entered a website address in their profile.
When someone sends you a PM, you will receive an e-mail notification announcing it.
