I bought a fancy silk dress a few years back for a big event. It just barely fit me, and I mean just, I had to breathe out just to zip it up! But it is silk and pink and flowy and gorgeous.
Well as I started gaining weight I would try on the dress every so often and eventually I couldn't do it up anymore! It was very sad for me to see such a concrete example of my weight gain, especially now that I couldn't wear my favourite (and expensive!) dress! As I started to lose weight that dress became my first goal. And now, as of Saturday, I can officially zip it up again!! The feeling is amazing.
So, do any of you have "goal" clothes? A favourite outfit you can no longer wear, or maybe something in a store you're dying to buy? Share!

I have beautiful black velvet dress which used to be very flattering just a couple of years back. But now it clearly shows the flaws in my figure (bulges at all the wrong places)
Every now and then I put it on to check on my progress. It is nice to see the changes that are happening though....

My black skinny leg Sass & Bide jeans from i dont know...2002? They're sitting in a space bag in my closet all unloved!!!
I would also not like to be horribly embarrassed in a bikini anymore, I used to enter the Bikini competitions & stuff & do quite well sometimes..Im a bit old to do that now but I would like to feel good in one again.

I have a pair of tight black Gap jeans I bought back in 1997 when I was right out of college. I want to wear those again

I became obese in my early teen years, so I don't have any outfits that I want to fit into "again".
I would absolutely love to get down to a Size 28 in pants, though. We shall see.

I already got into "THE black shorts". I would have to say that I want to get into my spectacular black gothic new years' dress for new years eve! That would be awesome. Thanks for helping me to come up with a new clothing goal!

My goal clothes are to fit into my size 0 skinny jeans. They're my favorite and I was so disappointed when I grew out of them. A bikini too, probably, though my mom would never let me.

| I have this really cute black suede shirt I just fit back into. I also have an adorable pink knit sweater, the kind you can see through that you wear a white shirt under that I'm about three sizes too big for still. I try it on now and again to see where I'm at, it actually goes on now but it's pretty tight and it ends up being a belly shirt!

Yeah, I use to have some skinny pants that I kept around for when I lost weight. Well, needless to say, when I finally got them out to try on, they were to big. Which made me feel really happy, but sad also, cause I never got to wear them.
So, keep those items, cause someday you will get into them, and may even pass them up.

The bikini thing was my goal last summer. I did get down in weight enough to wear one, but then I had to deal with the extra skin and stretch marks that were there after losing weight.
So, that is my winter goal, to work on those abs and then in the spring, I will work on tanning those stretch marks.

I have a pair of kickwear jeans that I looked absolutely fabulous in back in like
f/ck---2001 or something? 2000? sheesh. I can wear them, but they don't sit exactly right to look the best, that have to hang lower on my hips before I think they look good. So, those and
POSSIBLY
I have this bondage dress that I wore even FURTHER back in the day, like probably around 1996 or or so. I don't know if I will ever be able to get back in that because that only fit when I was anorexic, and I might never get back to that size again, but you never know! I keep it around and try it on every now and then. I can get into it, but I can't zip it up. Maybe someday!

#%@&!! I just lost the post I was writing d.amn!!!
Anyway, what I was saying was really funny to me, so I will re-type it. Funny story:
Some of my foster parents, we'll call them Rob and Rita, met when they were in their late teens and now they have been married for about 25 years. Anyway, the night they met was at a backyard party and Rita was wearing Dolphin shorts (if you remember those, they are very short and very sexy!) and Rob was immediately attracted to her and thought she had great legs and so he went up and started talking to her.
So then fast forward 25 years and 3 kids later and Rita does not fit into those shorts anymore and she had been keeping them around thinking
maybe one day I'll fit into these again...
but she recently decided no, that was never going to happen, so she went to give them to Goodwill. Rob said
"oh, why are you giving those away? I thought you wanted to try and get back into them?"
and she said, "That won't happen! I just have to be realistic."
And then he got a disappointed look on his face and she felt sort of defensive, like oh, he thinks I'm fat, he wants me to lose weight? And she's like
"what? what is that look about?"
and he says something like, "Well, I just thought you were going to try and get back into more shape, you know, like when we were married."
(and he is a sweet man really, I don't think he meant to make her feel so bad, but that comment made her feel REALLY bad) so she gets mad at comes back with
Okay, well , how about the day you have as much hair as you did on our wedding day, that will be same day I fit back into these shorts!
awwww, and he is so self-conscious about his hair. He's got the Gallagher-like hair, long but bald, and he always wears a hat.
doh!

LOL, that sounds like me and my hubby going at it.
Just had to add. I never thought in a million years I would ever be this light again. I knew I could lose some, but not this much.
So, Never say Never.... because it can happen.

yeah, that's what I was thinking really. I mean, if she did some serious exercise and nutrition adjustments, she COULD get back in those shorts. Those shorts are probably 30 - 50 pounds away for her. That is possible, people have done it on here! But for him, he would probably need surgery or something to get a full head of hair again... :(
Yes, it is true, I have talked to people who have gotten back into shape well into their 50s and were able to fit back into stuff they hadn't worn since they were in high school, college, on their wedding day, etc.) So, yes, it DOES happen and it CAN happen!

Mine was to hit size 30 and I hit sometime ago. I realized it is hard to find a size 30 in stores now. Most sizes are for the old me and it is frustrating. Most of my old concert shirts ( my whole wardrobe) I'm swimming in them now. So I have been buying all new clothes all summer

Well my "goal clothing" is not an article of clothing that I have even boughten yet but it's what I am working toward!
My wedding dress!
I haven't gone and tried on dresses yet (as the fiance and I have decided, or are rather forced, to have a long engagement) but when I was a bridesmaid a couple years ago I was in a size 6. My goal is to fit into a size 4 wedding dress.

Well, I wore like a 14 size when I weighed 174lbs. But, I squeezed into them and had marks from wearing them.
Now, at 124lbs, I can wears 5's. Although depending on the brand, some are tight, and some fit good.
It really depends on your body type and where you lose the weight the fastest.

I have a green dress I bought for a friends wedding 2 years ago, I intended to lose weight and fit into it.. never happened... tried again last summer but again did not make the date... I also have some pants I bought when I weighed 140 they were tight then and I once again intended to lose the weight so they would fit nice never happened... I also would love to be able to buy a shirt or tank top size "small" I could wear a medium at 140 so we'll see I'll still be happy to be a medium again :)

i have an audrey hepburn emerald green a line knee length dress that i had planned to wear when I got married. its a size 10-12. I can get it on but i cant zip it. it is gorgeous and i would like to wear it, though at the moment i have nowehere to wear it. We got married in a civil ceremomy and i found a summery black and white wrap dress that i loved and wore it instead. I havent even put it on since august or so, and i know it wont fit me now anyway. We dont get alot of nites away without the baby and our cash is limited, but it would sure be fun to go out for New Years Eve....but who knows? we also enjoy staying home and having a good time with her and enjoying champagne, crab and steak that we make ourselves in our pj's! sometimes simple is more fun?
