Hi,
I have a quick question about my diet..
I want to lose 75 LBS in 6 months..
I started my diet last week with 325Lbs and im 5'11 at 27 yrs of age
I would like to know how many calories I need to take to get the ideal result in my diet..
As of now I take in around 1300-1400 Cals per day including fruits..
I have lost 13 Lbs in 6 days and I would like to know if thats healthy or if there is a better way to lose more than that in a week by the amount of calorie intake..
I dont go to the gym yet because of my holiday work schedule but I will as soon as the holidays are over..
If there is a better way to continue my diet please tell me I would appreciate it..
Thanx.

Well right now it's hard to tell how much you're actually losing. 13 pounds in 6 days - a LOT of that is really water weight. Weight always drops quickly like that in the beginning of a "diet" but levels off to a more even pace.

There's really no set weight at which the water will stop dropping. When you notice the weight loss is slowing down, that's when you can be more sure that it's not water anymore.
However, I plugged in your stats and I CAN tell you that your unadjusted BMR is 2,272 calories. That means you shouldn't be eating any less than this to lose weight. So eating 1,300-1,400 a day is going to eventually put your body in starvation mode. And that's not a good thing to be in, cuz over time your body will start to hold onto it's fat stores and resist like he|| to keep you from losing anymore weight.

Seems like huge drop offs in weight (water) have decreased. It's standstill at 312-313 pounds. Still eating about 1,500 calories a day, but I think I need to incorporate some form of a activity, gym here.

I think you might have more sustainable weight loss over the 6 months if you upped your calories to 2000- 2500 a day, and did some exercise (walking, swiming, the gym etc) 3-5 days a week. If you eat too low, you can stall your weight loss down the track, and you will also lose more muscle than if you take it slower.

YOU WORK SOO HARD AS A UPS DRIVER ALREADY! I am a fellow UPS,r....well, my brother is anyway! But I know all the drivers cuz of my brother! :) I know how hard he works, and used to work and does work even today! You have to do the cardio I think because you are lifting heavy all day, turning and moving and using your legs alot...watch that back of yours. You are young yet!! I would definately look into proteins, lots of greens and watch the fruit in a can, as it has the added sugar. I am a believer that Sugar can be the enemy and it comes in anything that is WHITE or processed. Good Luck and Take it one day at a time!
