I lost 28 lbs  over 8 months 2 years ago by limiting my calorie intake to 1500 a day when needed 2400 to maintain. I since have put 5 back on and have gone back to the same plan and for 2 months nothing has happened.Last week I weighed in at 180, keep a dairy of 1500 calories a day, walk briskly 30 min ,4 days a week and when I weighed in 7 days later thinking i should have lost at least 1-2 lbs I had gained 4 lbs .Am quite confused as this has been going on for the last 2-3 months. I am 57 in good health . Suggestions?

I have been researching this type thing out as I find myself at a year and half long plateau.  So far it seems as though the experts say that if you are staying at the same weight despite eating a reasonable amount of food and exercising that you are probably just maintainig your weight.  What they say to do is to either take your calorie intake down some or kick up your exercise a notch. Or better yet, both!  I have been maintianing for too darn long too!  So this week I have commited to finding a way to lower my calories in a healthy way.  Good luck and keep us posted!

You should probably assist your metabolism. A great digestion and metabolism builder that I use is called ACOG Colon Cleanse. It really works on streamlining the metabolism by aiding digestion to effectively eliminate the foods we eat. This is the most important thing to know about loseing and maintaining weight. Our bodies must digest and eliminate the foods we eat at an effective rate or it turns into fat. It's not so much what we eat but how the food is processed and eliminated from our bodies that determines weight. However, foods like Beef, cheese, pork, pizza, white flour & white bread are very difficult to digest in our bodies. These foods slow down the digestion process and in turn, slow down the metabolism. In order to offset some of this from happening, we have to give our body what it needs to maintain good healthy digestion, metabolism and elimination. Specific herbs, enzymes, and nutirents do this very well. I was able to see a loss of 25 pounds within 3 weeks watching my calorie intake, excercising (walking), and taking ACOG. I like it beacause it is a very gentle product because unlike most colon cleansers, it doesn't rush me to the bathroom or make me go at odd times it's totally natural and I go only when I have to. The most important part is it helps with digestion and metabolism so I'm very happy about that. I get it at GNC. If you keep doing what you're doing, you will especially pleased with your results.

I had the same thing happen to me a couple years ago and it wasn't because I was gaining fat weight it was muscle weight that I was putting on.

Actually it's probably more like you haven't been eating enough, so you've lost lean body mass, which in turn lowers your RMR. Increase calories for awhile...you may gain some at first but it will level out and you'll get your RMR back up.
