Will this help me lose 42lb between September and the end of February?
The food will be;
1/2 hour before breakfast; Hot water and lemon and supplements*
Breakfast; Slimfast shake or smoothie
Snack; Fruit (dried or fresh) and skim milk
Lunch; Grilled chicken, salad and very low fat dressing. Glass of 100% Orange juice (not from concentrate)
Snack; Slimfast hunger shot
Dinner; Steamed fish or chicken and veg
Dessert/snack; Fruit or slimfast snack.
Exercise;
3 times a week before school; 1/2 hour cycle between the hot water and my breakfast.
3 times after school; 1.5 hour gym** (45 mins cardio, 45 mins weights, toning etc.)
1 2 hour long gym session at the weekend (like above except 1.25 hour cardio) and then on the other weekend day a 1/2 hour swim.
An hour long PE session in school and I will more than likely have basketball for about 3 hours in total each week
*What supplements should I take?
**I'll also be using the sauna for 15 minutes when I'm at the gym/pool

| Have you used the calories burned calculator on this site to determine how many calories you should be taking in? I have no idea how many calories your food plan works out to, or how many you should be taking in, so I really can't comment on it too much. As long as you're getting the right number of calories, and including lots of veggies, fruits, and water, you're on the right path.

You should probably just take some multivitamins. Human bodies are tougher than we think - we don't need a bunch of supplements, regardless of what advertisements say. Also, if you're going to be working out alot, you should probably eat some more carbs. By carbs, I mean whole wheat of course. If you don't, you'll probably feel too tired to exercise at your full potential. If you need any extra energy before a workout, eat a banana about 45-60 minutes beforehand. For me personally, liquids (including smoothies) don't really fill me up, so I would suggest putting some solid food into your breakfast, but if you feel energized after a smoothie then your breakfast plan is perfectly fine. Just make sure you're drinking a lot of water.
As for your goal, how realistic it is depends on your current BMI. Those with a higher BMI tend to lose weight faster and more easily than those with a lower BMI. If you're like, 300 (assuming a height of 5'8 or something), then yes, I would say that goal is possible.
