I've tried a number of diets and at the moment I've been trying a plant-based diet. However, I feel exhausted and cranky all the time. I was browsing the internet and found information on this particular diet called the "Diet for Your Blood Type"... it sounds like a combination of anthropology and medical studies. I started reading about this and I believe this could be right for me. I feel best when giving up dairy and wheat-- however, I feel terrible when eating another being's flesh (High levels of protein are recommended). If I am descended from hunter-gatherers... why do I feel this way? Should compassion come before health or vice versa?
Give your thoughts, opinions, advice and experience with this diet please.

In his book Eat To Live (which I would recommend you check out of your library!), Dr Fuhrman spends just over 7 pages explaining the danger of following the diet described by Peter D'Adamo in his book "Eat Right for Your Type".
I also think that the book Eat To Live will help you realise that a plant-based diet isn't just an ethical choice but if done properly also a health choice (and making better choices within a plant based diet will help you feel better and keep a healthy weight). Being armed with more scientific information about the merits of a plant based diet will help you fight off fad diets like the one you're asking about here. I hope you find a way to modify your current diet so you thrive on it and not feel cranky.
In case you have fallen pray to misinformation, you can certainly eat high protein plant-based foods, such as green vegetables (e.g. broccoli), legumes (lentils, beans, TVP). Nuts and seeds, whilst not particularly high in protein, can also contribute.

After I had posted this thread, I did come across the ETL discussion board. I looked up the ETL site only and I found it logical and convincing. I realize that I had fallen prey to the typical "You need meat to live" way of thinking.
I think that I will take this book out of the library and read it over. I also have 'The China Study' at home... and I will also start reading that again. (Only got a 1/4 way through) Thank you very much for your support, suggestions and comments!
