I tried contacting turbo jam by e-mail. They keep bouncing me out of e-mail saying it is either after hours or they are busy. But it's e-mail!! I have to dig for the special cust. service number from when I placed my order. Still waiting. Sometimes UPS gets here around 5:30-6:00 PM so there is still hope.

I called Turbo Jam. They gave me a tracking number. Is was shipped 4/25 and is in Illinois. Apparently I will receive it Monday or Tuesday. 10-11 business days. Oh Well.
At least I know it's coming.

I did tae Bo before and I prefer Turbo Jam. Chalene is right, there is something about the music that really gets you going. Turbo Jam is more like you're dancing most of the time and with TaeBo it seems that you're just standing there doing some of the moves, it seems to get a little redundant for me at least.
Some of the moves are similar to TaeBo, but only because they are standard kick boxing moves. You'll find some of the moves in any class in any gym around the world.

| I just read this forum after seeing the infomercial on tv today. You guys seem really motivated, and that's what I need. So I ordered the package right away and now I'm back to tell you guys that I'm in this for the long run if I can get some support. I have never been able to stick with anything for very long. But I am to the point right now where I am so disgusted with myself that something's gotta give. I quit smoking on March 4th, and I haven't started back yet, so maybe I do have it in me. Thanks for all the information. Now I'll just have to wait.

Welcome, kp0407, keep us updated on your progress. :) And definitely congrats on the nonsmoking! I've known people who tried to kick the habit, without success.
My package is here! Actually, it arrives on the 20th, according to Beachbody, but my dump of an apartment complex didn't bother to inform me that I had a box at the main office. So, I did the Learn and Burn this morning. :D I must say, I really wasn't quite in tune with the team, but practice makes perfect. ;)

Hi Hyacinth,
I'm pretty new to this board. I just started with the Learn & Burn yesterday. I'm glad to know I'm not the only unco-ordinated one out there.
I also want to thank all of you who have the Ticker Factory on their posts - I didn't know this existed. It's a great way to stay honest!

Turbo Jam arrived today Hooray!!! I tried learn and burn...what a great workout. I was a little uncoordinated with the last kick sequence, but it's been a long time since I did any aerobics program. I think I might have been tired. My warm up was a 2 mile walk. The pollen in the air is brutal and I'm taking major allergy meds. I've never had such bad allergies before. I never even noticed the tree pollen.
I can't wait for tomorrow night's workout. I think I might try the turbo-slim diet plan. I can correlate points as I am on Weight Watchers. Has anyone else tried it? I realize that's another forum. Who carries the whey powder? My tapes took over two weeks to arrive, so I'm reluctant to order anything else from Beach Body.
I've lost about 17 pounds on weight watchers with my own exercise regimen. (Over about 9 weeks) I'll post all my stats tomorrow with goals etc.

The 10 day National slim down challenge starts May 15th. That's the 10 in 10 in program nationwide, that some of you have mentioned. Let me know if you want to be part of it at a virtual party site.

Hi everyone!
reading your reviews is what's making me go an order the TJ system tomorrow with my paycheck. I'm really excited to get results. In the past year and a half i've gone from a loose size 14 to a very tight 18. i refuse to go to a 20 so i'm wanting to get something done. i've never been able to wear a bikini before, and in 2009 when i get married, i'd love to wear one on my honeymoon.
i'm really super excited to order and get my stuff! anyone have recommendations on where to order from?
Dana

I'm 48! years old and have begun exercising for the first time in at least 10 years. I have to admit I'm very unco-ordinated when I follow the TJ 20 minute workout. I keep going back to the learn and burn (truthfully, I'm in a sweat just doing that). So far I've been at it for 4 days and am really enjoying it. Laughing at yourself is a great stress release. As for footwear, I like barefoot on carpet. I thought about doing the 10 day diet/turbo jam, but the food choices just don't appeal to me (plus I'm not prepared to give up my glass of red wine with dinner). I'm down a couple of pounds so far and I can feel a difference in my abdominals and thighs. My husband was recently diagnosed with Diabetes, so to help support him I have begun to follow the diet plan for Diabetics. It's really not restrictive in what you can eat, only how much you eat. I guess that's the trick - limit portion sizes and exercise - you're bound to lose weight and feel better.
Good luck everyone.

I'm on day two of the 10 day quick start diet. I thought I'd try it even though some of the items weren't that appealing to me. The tuna salad was much more flavorful than I expected. I didn't like the broccoli omelet, though. I have been substituting the weight watchers chocolate smoothie mix for the whey protein powder. Rasberry chocolate smoothie-yummy. I use one tablespoon of the mix at a time, so one packet makes 3 smoothies. I'm counting points because I'm on weight watchers and the 10 day plan uses the right number of points and also uses recommended oils and proteins. It can also be used if you're on the core plan as most of the ingredients are core foods.
I'm pretty uncoordinated with some of the turbo jam moves. Some are faster than I can follow. I get a little better each time as my balance improves. I think it's more important to get moving. The form and choreography will come with practice.
I love that they give you a countdown timer for each section and for the program. It lets me know when I'll be able to regroup. Cardio party went by faster than I expected.

Whew, I just did the 20 minute workout! I'd been doing the Burn part of Learn and Burn, though I hadn't been finding it very challenging by now. Finally tonight I watched the 20-Minute through twice to get a feel for it, then decided to get up and give it a go! Sure, much more challenging, but so fun! And I'm sweating! Whooo-hoo!
Funny side-note: previous to my entry into her life about two years ago, I'm sure my 7-year old step-daughter had never heard of calories. But she had been watching the workout with me tonight. So,on her way off to bed while I was pumping, punching, and kicking, she said, "You're doing great! You're really burning those calories!" Apparently I wasn't the only one listening to Chalene. ;)

I was feeling pretty tired last night and forced myself to try the turbo sculpt video...It was AWESOME!!! It is much slower paced than the cardio party and I didn't feel as uncoordinated as I did with the other workouts. I could really feel the burn!!! I had a spectacular high after the workout. I can't wait to do this one again.
Incidentally, I lost three pounds after three days of the kick-start program, although I'm already starting to stray slightly from the exact menu. I work full time and have two kids, so blending smoothies and prepping the lunches is a little too much work. Lean cuisine is more my style. The omelets aren't terribly appealing either.
I'm starting to see obliques and triceps. I have never - in my life- seen my obliques. I still have about 45 pounds to lose, but the muscle definition is noticeable.
To those contemplating turbo jam...go for it!

I'm having so much fun with TJ, and I'm seeing so much muscle definition, that I decided to buy the Maximum results package. There is enough variety in the programs that I can pick and choose which workouts to do based on my energy level and how much time I have to exercise.
I've got a little TJ library developing!

I was wondering if anyone else has heard anything about Turbo Kick's (the class version of Turbo Jam) big retreat comming up this August? I was at an event that Turbo Kick was at this weekend and I heard people talking about it!? It sounds like that would be so much fun! A great way to loose major pounds in a weekend!! I guess I'll keep checking Turbo Kick's website to see when the dates are... anyone heard anything about it?

I ordered TJ for the first time about 2 weeks ago. It took my a week and a half to actually get the DVDs.
I'm 5'6" and 160 lbs. I haven't been this big since senior year of college, when I lost 30 lbs. I've gained about half back. It's from a combination of poor eating and lack of exercising. Senior year I had a killer workout partner who pushed me and now I'm flailing.
So far, I've done the workout for 2 days and my back, neck, arms, shoulders, legs, and butt are killing me! I don't usually do upper body exercise which is why I think I have it so bad. I don't plan to weigh myself for at least 2 weeks, so I'll let you guys know how it goes!

I got my turbo jam yesterday!!!:) It only took 4 days...but I noticed that the return address was right down the street from me.. I didn't have a chance to watch any of the DVD's...but I'll try one tonight.
Has anyone done the 10 day thing? It seems very strict...

I started the ten day thing. I lasted about 3 and a half days and just couldn't keep up with all the prep time and packing of meals involved. Plus, I don't like to buy fish until I'm going to use it and there was no way I could go fish shopping every day!
What I can tell you is that I lost three pounds in the first three days and my energy was way up. I also liked some of the menu choices so much that I have incorporated them into my regular diet. The cold roast beef sandwich with sauerkraut was surprisingly tasty and easy and so was the turkey and avocado wrap.
Chalene tells you you can switch some of the menus around...swap snacks and things, so it's not super-restricted. What I found hard was that many of the menu items are things I don't normally buy. Papayas are huge and I had to throw some things away, because I just couldn't use them all.
I didn't realize how long ten days last. I was thinking it was a week when I started (LOL). However, I might try it again some time. The food combinations were good, (except I'm not a straight egg-white fan). I felt good and never felt hungry. The prep just cut too deep into my "me" time, which is pretty scarce as it is.

Hello to all!:D
I have been watching the infomercials on this for a while now and finally broke down and bought it today. It looks so promising. I really hope it is. I have tae-bo bootcamp and only used it twice. I dreaded doing it. I hope TJ is as fun as it looks.
I look forward to sharing my weight loss journey and getting to know you all. I will keep you updated when I get it.

Last night was the second time I tried it...but I definitely like it better than Tae-Bo. I am not a person that usually can stick to a program...so we shall see. I did the 20 min turbo jam and it went by so fast...and I was sweating A LOT!!!
On a side note...does anyone here work out at 24 Hour Fitness? The turbo kick boxing classes are very similar to TJ. I know that Vicki used to (maybe still does) work for 24 Hour...I'm just wondering if Chalene does too?

Hi everyone~
I've come by and read through this forum b4, just following with your results and stuff. Congrats all you who have had good results~! *^_^*
i recently ordered my Turbo Jam... just received it yesterday, but haven't tried it out yet.
i'm definatly the heaviest i've eVeR been in my life right now. I was always pretty skinny.... but last year i gave up smoking and partying cold turkey, and it shows. i have never been the workout type, and i'm hoping Turbo Jam can help me change that. Your posts all sound very promising.... seems fun and shows results.
I'm looking 4-ward to changing a lot of things in my life around, but now that my DVDs are here, i'm honestly a little afraid to start cuz i'm already worried about not following through and sticking with it. I know, definatly NOT the way to start off.... and that's why i'm feeling hesitant to start. But i don't want to put it off... i guess i just need to jump right in, right~?
After starting the program, how long was it b4 feeling like Turbo Jam became just "part of your routine"~? How many work outs b4 you didn't feel "silly" and akward with the moves~? I guess the good thing is doing the workouts from the privacy of your own home. I just need to get over myself and start doing something for myself....
Ok everyone, sorry for the babbling.... just needed to do a little venting.
i'll let you all know how it goes. *^_^* Thanks~!

Hello all,
I love informercials and even though i never buy any of the products i see on tv, Turbo Jam may just be the exception. After months of promising to go running (several gyms close by, but i'd rather work out on my own) or doing other forms of exercise and not doing it, i've accepted that i won't be working out without any guidance. Turbo Jam seems really great and i've been reading up and researching it for a while and following the posts here and i've decided to order and hope to end up liking it as much as a lot of people here do. :o) Thanks. Hope to be posting about my results here soon!

I've been doing turbo jam for about 6 weeks. I just tried the lower body jam. It comes with an elastic/rubber band for working the legs. WOW! What an incredible workout. I felt my muscles burn like no other workout. She does squats as a break from the more intense portions...Squats!
I LOVE Turbo Jam. Even if you can't get a discount, the program is sooo worth the money. And you will get discounts on the supplemental sets. If I ordered a third set, I would have gotten a 50% discount, but I already had two of the videos from the third set because I upgraded my initial order. I have a whole library of TJ DVD's now.
Chalene is very upbeat and supportive and the people in her videos are real human beings. I can't say enough good things about Turbo Jam! I haven't even tried all the videos yet, but I haven't been disappointed. There is a lot of similarity with moves from video to video, but each one is unique and works different muscle groups.

Hey everyone, I just got my TJ in the mail today, and plan on starting it tomorrow. I used to be a college swimmer and unfortunantly I have not been in the water for two years, I really want to get down to the size I used to be and I am hoping TJ can help me do it. I might even start tonight, I am so excited! Does anyone have a workout that seems to work better than the others? or does the preposed work out plan in the little book work well?

So how much did you end up paying for the whole library? If you get only the basic Turbo Jam that is advertised, are you just getting a cardio workout? Thats really what i'm looking for-cardio- but if i can get toning or muscle defining workout as well, thats a plus! I've seen on the infomercial that in one video she is using weights. Is that workout more of a weight training one than a cardio. Also, is there a recommended weight amount? I have 5lb weights, would that work? Thanks for any info!

The basic plan as advertised on the infomercial has two cardio workouts- "Cardio Party" and the 20 minute workout. It also has turbo sculpt which uses weights. 5lb. weights are fine. You can increase, decrease or even use no weights depending on your fitness level and goals. I find that the turbo sculpt is my favorite program, but the cardio is really good, too. Everything even the "learn and burn" gets me sweating and increases strength. There is a bit of cardio in that as well. There is such a variety among the videos, even in the basic package, that I can tailor my workout each evening based on my personal energy level and time availability.
I found that I needed a few extra times with the burn part of learn & burn to get my coordination. But there are tremendous benefits from each of the videos, so I think you will see improvement in strength and coordination no matter what order you follow.
I hope you like TJ as much as I do! Good luck.

Thanks for the info! I ordered my basic set today (!) although I'm sort of regretting one of the upgrades-the one that works on your lower half, thighs, buns, and I don't remember what else. I really want to tone my thighs but I didn't wanna get caught up in all the upgrading and paying more than expected. I didn't like how the site didn't tell you (when it offered the upgrades) how much total the upgrades would cost, but would instead state that it was an additional $14.95 (for the 1st upgrade I think) "per month" and since they advertise it terms of 3 payments I assumed they meant that the additional work outs would be around $45 more. That seemed like a lot. Anyway, I got the basic set and if I really like maybe I'll just go ahead and buy those later on ebay or something. Does the basic TJ work on toning thighs? Can't wait for TJ to arrive. Also, I caught the Core Rhythms infomercial today. Never heard of it before. It just seems ok, but the price seemed nice, $14.95.
Has anyone tried this?

Just checked out the Core Rhythms site I mentioned and I shoulda known it was too cheap. javascript:emoticon(':?',%20'images/emoticons/confused.gif')
$14.95 30 day trial and if you like it you keep it and get billed another $14.95.

Hi, everyone! I am more of a "lurker" on these boards but when I found the Turbo posts, I knew I had to write!
First of all, Way to Go Purple Cat! Fantastic! I have done Turbo Jam at home and now Turbo Kick at my local 24 Hour Fitness. I just love it!! It has meant so much to me!!
I have recently found out they are having an ANYONE"S invited camp in August!! I am soooo excited!! I recently registered to go! Oh, my gosh, Chalene, Anna-Rita, Jenelle, Mindy Chicken George and all those people will be there and they are going to be like Team Captains!!
Have any of you guys heard about the camp???

I have these tapes but with the weather being nice I have been walking a lot. I'm getting slow results so I do want to kick it up a little. Can you give me an idea of your "routine". How many days per week you do the tapes and which ones? Do you follow the recommended schedule that came with the tapes?

Hey! Trying to lose baby weight! I am doing Turbo about 4 to 5 times a week. There are 5 videos in the original set and I rotate them. I just love them and I am a Mom too! I have seen such a difference in my waist, hips and arms! I love it!
It is nice, but my 4 year old now asks to do Chalene's tapes! I love it!!

I average 5 days a week with turbo jam, too. I am also a mom of 2, trying to lose the baby weight. My youngest is 4 1/2 so I was having a really hard time using baby weight as an excuse.
I usually alternate cardio party plus the standing abs from ab jam with turbo sculpt and the full ab jam. This takes a little over an hour. I do the programs at around 8pm after the girls are tucked in for the night.
On days where it's too beautiful, too warm, or where I am really not up to doing TJ I will take the dachshund for a walk. I try to do two miles. This generally takes just under 40 minutes, depending on what there is for the dog to sniff.
I love TJ and I find that pushing myself to increase stamina and strength is easier than any other workouts I have tried. I really feel great, albeit sweaty afterwards.
I ordered The lower body jam and even the maximum results packages after I saw my success with the original programs. I really like all of them. Good luck and stick with it. I love what is happening to my body!
