Unless someone else wants to step into my shoes, I'm going to lead the next challenge.
Here are the guidelines for the Summer Weight Loss Challenge (similar to those of the previous one):
- The challenge will run from Monday, June 30th through Sunday, August 31st, exactly nine weeks.
- You may join the challenge at any time beginning July 1, and late-comers are most welcome. You can even join the challenge in August.
- To join the challenge, post your starting weight and goal weight.
You may choose any goal you like. But if your goal is to lose more than 18 pounds during the challenge period -- more than two pounds a week -- please explain why you think your goal is realistic.
This website is dedicate to healthy, common sense, lasting weight loss and does not support crash diets which do not have realistic expectations of producing long-term results.

- Pick a day for your weekly weigh-in, and stick to it a closely as you can. Then post your current weight each week -- or as often as you like!
You may wish to read: How Often Should You Weigh Yourself
Those who are not losing weight, and those who are gaining, will receive praise for continuing to participate. It's so easy to run and hide! We've all been there ourselves.
We also know that by participating they are very likely doing better than they otherwise would be.
- The results will be updated every Wednesday (or more often) and posted right here just below these instructions so they will always be easy to find.
We want the challenge stats to be realistic and reflect active challenge members, so anyone not posting for two consecutive weeks will be dropped from the list. But they will be put right back on the next week should they post again.
If you need to withdraw from the challenge, please have the courtesy to post a farewell note or send me a Private Message (PM). Your name will be removed without comment.
- You are encouraged to share how you are doing during the challenge, and especially to give each other support. However, to make it easier for me to find your weekly weight, please make sure your weight Stands Out.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to post them or send me a PM.

Sign me up:
Starting Weight: 275
Goal Weight: 250
Weigh-In: Sundays
25 pounds is a lot to lose in 2 months, but I still have a lot to lose! Basically, it equates to 3 pounds per week, while also allowing 2 of the weeks to be 2 pounds. 250 is also my next big milestone.
Hopefully, I will be starting strength training at some point during this challenge, but we are really tight on money at the moment due to recurring car troubles. Regardless, I still think my goal is realistic.

Hello!
I'm stating back at 145 
My gaol is to lose 15 pounds and be at 130.
I know my goal is a bit of a stretch but I am determined this time not to fall off the band wagon.

I definitely need this. I want to be able to wear a bikini without feeling ashamed of myself and hate what I look like.
Start: 154
Goal: 145lbs
It is a lot (especially for me) but I really really want to start my last semester at university looking and feeling great (still 15lbs more than what I used to be, but closer at least)
My weigh day will be Monday or Tuesday

Nir, thanks for starting a new challenge!! I was really hoping there would be another one. I think these challenges are great motivation, so count me in!

That's 15#. I'm pushing it extra hard in July since I'm trying to reach 170# by August 1 to fulfill my goal of 100# lost in one year. I'm close at 88# as of today so I know it will be a real nail biter. I've been exercising twice a day, every single day. Loss has slowed down the last couple of months, but I am still DETERMINED.
I'll post my weight on Fridays when I "officially" weigh each week.

This looks fun, I'll give it a shot. I've got a lot to lose, but I'll keep my goal reasonable.
Current Weight: 410 lbs.
Goal Weight: 395 lbs.
My weigh-ins have been occurring on Saturdays, so I'll be posting them almost right after I check it. Hope I'm as successful with my efforts as all of you more accomplished folks. Best of luck, everyone!

(I subtracted 1 pound from actual SW of 144.5 to account for the fact that I will be losing a pound the easy way when I hit 139 - I'll be retiring my old big superheavy weigh in pants! Target loss is 9.5 pounds.) I love love love the way that 134 looks, that's super motivating. Whooooweeee I hope I get there!!!!!

Ok, I am going to be gone the next few days. But, sign me up. It might help me lose what I gain over vacation.

Thanks for the Challenge! I came around too late for the last one and have been wanting to join!
Starting weight: 225
Goal weight: 210
I know 15 lbs is a lot but I am doing NOTHING right now and staying at my weight. If i change my lifestyle in any small way I am going to drop pretty fast for awhile. It's a goal and if I only lose 5 lbs I am still on my way! Thanks again!

Thanks Nir for starting up another challenge and thanks Peter for doing the last one. They really do help.
My starting weight is 137 lbs and my goal weight is 132 lbs. Good luck to everybody and a special mention to wagon fallers who get up, dust themselves off and get back on!

I'm in! This morning, 7/1, I was 141.2 and my goal for the 9 weeks is to hit my ugw, 125. I'll be weighing in mondays or tuesdays at least, although I weigh at least once a day so I may be providing an average if my daily weight the day I report it is spiked from water weight. This is my first challenge, but I'm trying new things since I've hit my halfway mark and am working on readjusting my lifestyle (I've been plateauing for about 2 weeks now). I haven't weighed 125 pounds since before my senior year of high school, and I can't wait to buy a new wardrobe.

I just got done packing the camper for this weekend. And I am thinking that Mondays weigh in will not be so good for me.
I hope you all will cut me some slack until, vacation is over. I will definitely need this challenge to lose any unwanted pounds that were gained over this whole vacation thing.

Yay, time to make another fresh start 
Starting weight: 127.2lb
Goal weight: 120lb
Total goal loss: 7.2lb
Although it would be awesome to hit the 110s, I doubt that's going to happen... But, I am going to make some changes, give myself some rules. Rules and lists. My life has been lacking structure lately.
Oh, and I'll probably weigh in each Tuesday.

Today's Saturday, and as a result, I'll be posting my first weigh-in update today! I step on the scale today to learn that I've lost 3 pounds this week to reach a very super-buff 407 pounds. Thought this was a slack week for me since I missed a couple of days to get my exercise in, but I'm glad to see a change like this. Hope everyone else has the same luck!

Forgot to weigh in yesterday. I have been really good about going to the gym this past wk. Only working on my cardio right now until I drop my 40 lbs. Then I am going to start weight training. Can't wait for that.
okay so my weight for this wk: 169.6 lbs.
down .4 this week. woo hoo :)

I am in for the summer. My goal is 158.
My current weight is 164.4. So that is 8.4 lbs. I have been stuck between 166 and 164 FOREVER, so this is going to be interesting!

Yeah :) Keep me in check guys! I haven't participated fully in any of the challenges since probably this time last year. My mind is finding it far more difficult to lose the last 15lb - apparently most of my enthusiasm was stored in the first 35lb.
