Hey,
I'm 16 and weigh around 140. Only 5 ft. 2 in. So I have a ways to go before I'm at the right weight and all. But I'd really like a buddy!!!

Hey! I would love to be your diet buddy.  I'm 5'5" and about 153, so I think I have about the same BMI as you.  I'm not technically overweight, but my goal is to get back down to about 125lbs.  I am 19 now, and I weighed 125 when I was about 16.  That is when i felt the best, both physically and in terms of body image.  How about daily posts about food/exercise to keep us on track?  Did you have anything other in mind?

Hey thanks!
It all sounds good - posts about food/exercise. I'll try to keep up with writing on  here.  It'll be easier once I'm done with school.

I got this new exercise video - 4 Fast Miles -  by Leslie Sanson. Tried it yesterday and it's awesome! It's walking/jogging with alot of other fast moves in there.  What kind of exercise do you do?

I like to jog mostly, but I haven't been doing it as often as I should.  But I'll be joining a gym soon, so hopefully they'll have a bunch of cool classes like kickboxing and stuff to get me in shape!

That's cool. What exactly is kickboxing?
Same here-  I haven't been doing much exercise lately either. What's worse is that I can't stop snacking! I think it's b/c I'm under so much stress with finals coming up and all.

I think that kickboxing is like tao bo or like cardio based on boxing, I'm not really sure bc I haven't done it before.  I've just come back from school so now I have to go shopping for a gym so I guess I'll get to sit in a couple kinds of classes.  And I know how stressful exams can be! Good luck! I seem to have the opposite problem; i snack when Im bored.  I'll be starting an internship soon so hopefully when I have something to do I won't have time to snack to be lazy! How soon till you finish exams?

It's been awhile!  I've joined a gym - with spin classes instead of kickboxing.  It sounds good, but it will probably only negate the weight I've gained by staying with my grandma and eating tons of homemade food!  How are you doing?

Hey!

Sorry it's been so long. But i finally finished school, my older brother graduated, there was a wedding, bridal shower, bonfire, and big family reunion this past week. Too much food! And it wasn't all good food either, ya know?
I haven't exactly kept up with exercising. I'll have to start up again today.  How are the spin classes going??

ugh! I know exactly what you mean about lots of bad food when you're around family gatherings!  And I don't actually start spin until Monday.  What are you doing for exercise?

I haven't gotten to do much this week. Just a few stretches and crunches. And when baby-sitting I get a little exercise in. Do you know if stretches and all actually do anything?? Anyways, I wanna try to start up the jogging and weight lifting this coming week. And keep it up this time too. Let me know how the first class goes!

Hmm, at the very least, stretching can't hurt! And it's soo frustrating, but I haven't been able to get into a spin class yet!  I'm going to try a different gym..I hope you are having better luck!

Hey JJJ,

Sorry again - I've been really busy. But guess what? I've lost 4 pounds in the last 2 weeks. It just means I'm back at 140 'cause I'd gained a little last month.
I started up the walking/jogging again, and the weght-training (Toning for Teens), and I get to use my mom's stationary bike. I started staying outside most of the day and finding stuff to do. It's better than being inside, snacking, and watching tv. So now I'm back on track!
What about you? How's it going? Did you find another gym?

ttyl,
Lara
